SAY WHAT YOU NEED TO SAY.

I’m about to do something stupid and i know it, but still feel a great urge to do it. You see the way people say that if things happen to you, you should keep them to yourself? Yeah, today i feel like defying those rules too. And blog this (read tell the world).
For the past two or so months i have had someone talking and acting all shady towards me. i have always said to myself “zip it, just zip it Tracy, you are learning how to keep calm and ignore. Be a good student and breath.” It worked, and i was getting somewhere. I was happy with the progress and my achievement so far. And then they pushed me off the cliff and here i am.
You see, that’s not who i am, because anytime someone tries to trample on me or say something insulting i always have a way of letting them know what grounds they are treading on and state the boundaries i don’t let people get to . No, don’t think I’m the fight-instigator type of person or the drama mama, but i don’t let people do things that i disapprove or hurt me or my feelings in any way. I say what i need to say when I’m supposed to say it.
I wasn’t actually taught that by anyone but i may have picked some of that from my mother. At times i wish i would’ve inherited my dad’s “ignore-button”. This could’ve come in handy when dealing with people with ego’s up there with the sun making them believe they are always right and trying to get your point across will give you migraines for days. I would like to let you know i was bullied and belittled when i went to boarding in primary and i used to cry myself to sleep all the time. If you were not bullied, it’s the kind of feeling you wouldn’t like to experience now or ever. With time i learnt and chose to rise above that fear.
Tell you what? If you have actually been put through some terribly tough times (by people who don’t matter when you look back) and are wondering if those people are being sent your way all the time. The answer is no. You are only as worthy as what you let yourself be. Set your boundaries and always guard those boundaries. Because people with issues will always try to drag you down with them.
I have also learnt that when you sit on something that keeps pushing you down, a time might come when you will erupt like a volcano and nobody will recognize who that person is, including yourself. My moral is, don’t let nobody put you down and say what you need to say, take your stand no matter what; but stay civil and  decent altogether. Better still; know when to fight (for yourself) and when to take flight. When it’s all said and done, don’t let it go to your head, because your opinion is the only one that counts.

Of drivers, passangers and everything in between.

Music. I think I love most genres of music so I would never have a consistent answer all through 5 interviews. And we all know what that would mean for other people out there waiting to pounce on any and everybody who is hang out to dry read “brought to light”. Never mind.
That’s actually the main reason I am so scared of being an out there person. Meme’s will be created and all but I’m hoping that day will come when I get myself out there and have the skin to stand the gutter press and the jobless on social media. My favourite preferences are Rock (not hard rock by any chance- it makes me want to explode), house, kwaito, zouk and Trance. On rock maybe I’d say I’m a little of an emo but to be quite frank I don’t know what I really am. That said and done we get to the point.
We have had the best bands in the history of music and we have loved their music. LMFAO, Swedish house mafia, my chemical romance, destiny’s child, spice girls, pussy cat dolls among others. Normally, in a group there has to be the driver (the main man), and the passengers. The driver usually commands the fame by his/her talent the rest just exist and keep the group going. They will drop a line and do things that will always and forever drag the bands’ name to the tabloids and all that gutter press.
Somewhere along the way, it gets to the drivers nerves because they are the one who do A-X and the others just do Y and Z, so they break up. And as fans we wail and talk but we get over it. Then the main act doesn’t die. They go on and sell solo albums, go on tours and collabo successfully. Nicole Sherzinger, Collo, Adam Lavigne, Beyonce and Kelly, Mel B, Nate Ruess of Fun among others.
However I have to say that in destiny’s child Kelly was the main girl. She just never got the right manager since it always had to be the bosses’ daughter who got the shine. I’m not trying to say B is lazy but I have to admit Kelly has this “gerribility” on a whole new level, B just can’t compete! This, my friend has to be the reason she lately has hit after hit after hit and maintaining a hot bod like she is 18.
When all is said and done, everyone will live their lives and will have to be the one in charge. Breaking it down to school group works, take charge and be a driver or at least the co-driver. Of course chances are people will leave you to do the dirty work- which I have to mention are VERY benefiting at the end, I learnt from experience. Don’t rant and rave but instead Keep calm and take the feather, put it in your cap because it actually is a good thing.

The lucky Break.

Procrastination is a disease and by all means today I have been tossed out of it. To do this post. I am convincing my mind that I can do this before I call it a day. I’m gonna take this moment to ask you to kindly bear with me if this post doesn’t make sense to you but please I’m hoping I drive my point home. Sit on tight.
We all have struggles dreams and ambitions, right? Some of us dream and keep sleeping while there are those among us who dream and work on it to the last detail. No matter how fast or slow one is working on it, it’s commendable because you are lapping that person on the couch. Keep going. I believe everyone has a lucky break; big or small it’s still a lucky break. In my theory, this is when God pays you for how much you have tried; the rejection, sleepless nights, blood, sweat and tears. The more you try, the bigger your break.
If you are wondering what I’m getting to, I’m talking about people like Justin Bieber, Psy, Otonglo et al. (Why we no have women? Ok.) At his 30’s Psy managed to take the world by storm and his YouTube views flew off the charts. Bieber had been in the game for a while, singing in the park and all then he got his big break he was in his teens. Our very own version of a big break David “Otonglo” Owira has become the envy of his peers when he confidently warmed and tickled many doing something he loves.
I’m wondering how many people out there who are on their bum asking “tunaomba sirkali” to bath and cloth them. I do not know anyone who did their work diligently and got all doors slammed on their faces. Of course some doors will slam shut especially when you are starting. How much resilience you put in is the fuel that will get you there. Do you know if we were getting paid to sleep we would find it hard to do that? Trust me, and I’m sure you agree with me.
And then there is the flip side of this lucky break and all. When you get famous but it’s more or less ridicule. People like Rebecca Black, the whole world went ham on that little girl for just trying to do her thing. Fine, I agree that the song hardly made sense, ok, it did but it was like a nursery rhyme on a wasted feel good beat. I didn’t like the song but I still sing along to it especially the bridge where they go “R.B Rebecca Black”. Then we have Susan Mirfat the lady from Tujuane, she trended worldwide just for that scripted show and had meme’s for days.
Most probably when you encounter the flip side of fame you are likely to go into depression as people attack you in the most brutal way possible. Ooh no, I have never wanted to be that girl, I hate when people stare so if that happens to me I’d probably go to my shags and live under a rock where people don’t use internet and probably only 30% have TV and watch it.
My point being, when you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again. Take it positively and bounce back. I mean look at people like Oprah, she got fired from a major TV job and now she could fund that same network for years. And if there is much rejection in the things you do, you are on the right track. because winners lose much more than losers.
“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. -Henry David Thoreau”

Weave Business

Weaves might have been the best invention for most women since sliced bread but I cannot help but disagree with how they have come to define the modern woman. Out of ten women in Africa today, nine are hiding their natural hair beneath weaves and I think it’s time we should toss them in the bin where they belong and leave horses tails alone.  Isn’t that where they come from?
They are technically fixed in six ways but ill cut down to the ones we are all familiar with; bonding, which happens to be very expensive, lace extensions that are equally expensive and the most common and quite pocket friendly, weaving.
Bonding takes hours to fix your natural hair to the synthetic weave and is done with some type of glue that doesn’t easily let the two separate but at the time of removal if your hairdresser is impatient; oh boy! You will be balder than you were trying to cover initially. The glue also damages your skull and hair roots. Choose wisely.
Both hair and skull are supposed to be cleaned regularly. Do you know how long some of us out here put on weaves for? Four months!! There was a particular teacher in primary school that had hers for that long. And I know she is not alone. It might be working for you as cheap but remember cheap is expensive, so what happens is, bacteria builds up beneath and causes a number of things including severe dandruff and lice.
Natural hair is easy and cheap to maintain and I ask again why do we have to dig up thousands of shillings from our pockets to get a weave? Then there is the fixing part where if your hairdresser goes one direction wrong you will be grumpy and get it removed in less than 5 seconds.
Save yourself the misery and go natural.

You know the way they say men are from mars women are from Venus? yeah honey, here is why. Men this is so true you better believe it. I found this on a friends facebook page and i couldn't agree more.

3.No male can possibly know all The Rules.
4.If the female suspects the male knows all The Rules, she must immediately change some or all of The Rules.
5.The female is never wrong.
6.If the female is wrong, it is due to a misunderstanding which was the direct result of something the male did or said wrong.
7.If Rule 6 applies, the male must apologize immediately for causing the misunderstanding.
8.The female may change her mind at any time.
9.The male must never change his mind without the expressed written consent of the female.
10.The female has every right to be angry and upset at any time.
11.The male must remain calm at all times, unless the female wants him to be angry or upset.
12.The female must under no circumstances let the male know whether or not she wants him to be angry or upset.
13.The male is expected to mind read at all times.
14.The male who does not abide by The Rules cannot take the heat, lacks backbone, and is a wimp.
